Sondel Sport

Sondel Sport was established in the late 1950s in Crouch Hill, London N4 by Alan Jackson and Dave Tweddel, members of De Laune Cycle Club. They specialised in cyclo-cross and road racing cycles. In 1962 the shop moved to Highbury & Islington N5.

Alan Jackson had been National cyclo-cross champion but also had success at T/T and road racing. He was a double Olympic medallist at the 1956 Melbourne Games where he won individual bronze in the road race and silver with GB Team.

Near the end of the 1960s the shop stopped selling bicycles and moved firstly into mopeds and then motorcycles. In early 1970s they were the agents for Yamaha and sponsored a race team.

Sondel Sport is still in business today selling motorcycles from their shop in Sidcup, Kent
