Pavarin

Achille Pavarin was born in 1930 in Calcinate del Pesce, Northern Italy. At the age of 14 he joined cycle manufacturer Ganna as an apprentice. In 1950 at the age of 20 he was appointed assistant head mechanic for the Ganna Professional race team, which included star riders Magni, Bini and Logli. Achille became head mechanic in 1955.

In 1964 after 20 years at Ganna he joined the Ignis and for the next 10 years worked with world champion riders such as Maspes, Baldini and Vigna.


In 1974 Achille opened his own custom racing bicycle workshop under his own name in the town of his birth

Achille’s son Roberto worked as mechanic for the Italian National team and with hugely successful individual riders such as Bugno, Cipollini, Ballerini and was Fabio Casartelli’s mechanic when he won Olympic gold in Barcelona 1992. After which he joined his father full time in the workshop.


Roberto still runs the highly successful Pavarin cycle business, in Calcinate del Pesce.
