Jack Hearne
Jack was born in 1928 at the age of 18 after National Service started working in his uncle’s garage in the village of Stoke Poges, Middlesex. In the evenings he attended classes at London Polytechnic to learn frame building. In 1949 he was making frames working out of a barn in the village.
During the 1950s and 60s Jack was president of Chiltern Road cycle club where he built frames for and sponsored many young riders. He was also race mechanic with the England Team on several Tour of Britain races.
In the late 1960s he opened a larger shop just down the road in Slough where he worked until the 1990s when he closed the doors for good. Jack passed away in 2011
