Bob Jackson

Bob (John Robert) Jackson started his cycle business at Leeds in 1935 building frames under the name JRJ Cycles which were held in high repute, first by local, and later cyclists from all over the UK and abroad.

In 1956 Bob purchased Merlin Cycles and marketed them alongside JRJ bikes. In the 1970s both Merlin and JRJ names were dropped in favour of Bob Jackson Cycles.

By the 1980s Jacksons were producing Hetchins frames as well as some of their own elaborate lugged frames under the Bob Jackson Super Legend name.

Even though Bob passed away in 1998, the Bob Jackson name is still well-known and is an ongoing company in the lightweight world.
