Allin

Allin Cycles was established in 1919 by A.H (Arch) Allin when he opened a shop with Freddie Grubb in Whitehorse Road Croydon. By 1926 Arch set up on his own further down the same road. At the end of WW11 the firm was taken over by pre-war cycling ace Stan Butler in partnership with Arch’s son Charles and at that time the shop moved again on the same road.

Allin remained in the same hands until 1980 when Stan sold the business to Ray Moore. The business was sold again in 1984 to Dave Rutter and Linda Allin and eventually closed for good in 1998.
