Champion du Monde
1947
Built with Reynolds metric 531 butted tubing, the frame was restored many decades ago. It is identical to ‘off the peg’ models except that on this example the lugs have been filed down in the extreme, producing a very light bike for the period. In consequence one might speculate that it was made for a professional rider. The French champion Rene Vietto was associated with Helyett in 1930s and 40s.
Frame number 200163 is equipped with AVA stem with Reynolds Pelissier bars, unknown make period bottle cage, LAM Super Dural brakes. Ideale saddle on alloy seatpin. Stronglight headset, Ad-hoc Professionel pump, Louvet flint catchers.5 speed Simplex Tour de France gears, Durax chainset, Stronglight hollow axle, Lyotard Faucheux pedals with Paturaud toe straps and Christophe toe clips.
