Austro Daimler

Austro Daimler was originally a car manufacturer from 1899 until 1934 which included Ferdinand Porsche among its designers. It later merged with Steyr Automobiles to form Steyr-Daimler-Puch.

Several decades later in the '70s and '80s Steyr-Daimler-Puch turned to bicycle manufacturing with the Austro-Daimler brand revived for their up-market models, particularly for the US market. When Steyr-Daimler-Puch sold its bicycle business in 1987, it retained the Austro-Daimler trademark since when no bicycles have been made bearing that name.
