Francesco Freschi was an independent Milanese frame builder who in 1972 joined Sante Pogliaghi as an engineer. He left in 1976 to open his own business with his son Emiliano at a workshop in Milan.
Frames were built by Alfredo Zanella and Aldo Invernizzi, and later joined by Renato Negri and Antonio Mondonico all overseen by Francesco.
Freschi frames are often recognised by their unique and innovative modifications.
In the late 1980s the mountain bike revolution damaged the business and Emiliano tried in vain to sell Freschi’s innovations to larger Italian cycling brands and Freschi finally closed their doors in 1989.
